Sound & Music
Singing, hymns and instrumentals have always been important where Christians gather to worship, throughout the centuries. However, there is always more to explore - and a freshness as worshippers in all the arts practice flowing together.
One of the most exciting new areas of music is being explored by a group of classically trained musicians, called Epiphany - which plays musical portraits. How do they do this? They listen to what the Holy Spirit is prompting them with, and, together as a group play an inspired piece of music, spontaneously, which is for the person in front of them. It is a form of prophecy. They have successfully played in arts venues, and in public spaces such as libraries and in hospitals caring for the mentally ill. You can find out more about their work at their website epiphanymusic.org.uk
In September 2016, Charity Bowman-Webb and Karen Beaton went to speak at the Vision Day for Musician's Network - with classically trained musicians. Charity spoke on God's plan of limitless creativity for us, and Karen led with a poem.
THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE AREAS WE ARE BEGINNING TO EXPLORE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER CREATIVE WAYS FOR YOU TO EXPLORE GOD....
